Kaspersky

Kaspersky Automated Security Awareness Platform (K-ASAP) is an automated online learning platform that helps employers protect their business from cybercrime by increasing their employees' cybersecurity knowledge. Research shows that 80% of cyber incidents are caused by human errors. Kaspersky’s online awareness platform helps to increase the cybersecurity knowledge of employees with various training courses, so that cyber incidents can be prevented by employees in the future.

How does the Kaspersky Awareness Platform work?

In advance, determine which learning level fits which risk profile. The learning level depends on the risk that an employee poses to the company. The higher the risk, the higher the intended learning level should be. Within the awareness platform employees train at their own pace and level. The aim is to achieve the desired learning level that matches the risk profile of the employee. The progress and results of employees can be monitored with easy-to-read and directly usable reports and analyses. The set-up and management of the awareness platform does not require any specific resources or arrangements.

Step 1: Set training goals and approve the programme

  • Set goals based on global benchmarks.
  • Determine the desired learning level of each group of employees and the total learning time required for employees to reach this learning level.

Step 2: Train employees to reach the learning level appropriate to their risk profile

  • With ‘automated learning management’ all employees are trained and encouraged to reach the desired learning level, which matches their risk profile.
  • Acquired skills are rewarded midterm to keep encouraging employees to reach the learning level.
  • Employees train individually and at their own pace.

Step 3: Track progress with directly usable reports and analyses

  • Monitor live data, trends and forecasts.
  • Monitor realtime forecasts of whether the annual training target will be met.
  • Use reports to see which groups of employees need attention to reach their learning levels.
  • Compare interim results with benchmarks worldwide (Kaspersky database).

Stap 4: Effective training for each employee

  • Motivate employees by training with gamification and competitions. No boring presentation sheets and long learning material but learn by playing games.
  • Prove that the training courses are useful for everyday life. The training replicates work environments, where employees learn to identify cybercrime and prevent cyber incidents in a game-like manner.
  • Use the possibility to compare results with others.
  • Avoid overloading employees: with micro learning employees learn at their own pace and only the skills they need.

Cybersecurity for IOT (online)

Complete protection against cybercrime is impossible without trained employees. However, most companies only offer two groups of cybersecurity training: expert training for IT security teams and security awareness training for employees who do not work with IT. The group that remains: IT employees, are passed over. The awareness training level is too low and training all these employees to be cybersecurity experts is too expensive, takes too long and is too risky.

As IT employees are often the first to encounter potential cyberattacks and threats, it is important that they can identify them and know how to act upon them. Kaspersky launched the first online cybersecurity training specifically for IT employees. The training teaches them to identify potential cyberattacks and how to hand incidents over to the IT security team.

The cybersecurity training courses are divided into 4 modules:

  • Malicious software
  • Unwanted programs and files
  • Basic information to analyse possible threats
  • Responding to phishing attacks

Why CITO training is effective?

  • Interactive: learn by acting in real scenarios, without the risk of the computer.
  • Learning by doing: develop skills, not just knowledge.
  • Intuitive learning with useful navigation and tips.
  • Targeted learning: cover important IT security topics and issues that an IT employee might also encounter on the job.
  • Fully online: only internet access and Chrome browser needed.
